14.05.2007 IN GYANDZHA (AZERBAIDJAN) THE ASSEMBLY LINE OF MAZ TRUCKS HAS BEGUN ITS WORK

On April, 30th, 2007 an official opening of the assembly line of Minsk automobile plant trucks took place in Gyandzha (the Republic of Azerbaijan ). The basis of the project was laid down during visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev to the Republic of Belarus in October, 2006.

«Start of the plant in Gyandzha became the fastest project for organization of the assembly enterprise of MAZ trucks», - chief of export administration  Anatoly Lavrinovich noted.

The first three complete sets were shipped to Gyandzha on March, 27th, 2007. Specialists of Minsk automobile plant were sent to Gyandzha for rendering assistance to the partners at the initial stage of trucks' assembly. The Byelorussian enterprise also delivered the required tools, units and components. On April, 12th 6 more complete sets were shipped to Gyandzha.

The first trucks assembled at Gyandzha automobile plant, were dump trucks MAZ-555102 and MAZ-551605, drop-side truck MAZ-631705.

These three trucks directly have left to Baku from Gyandzha automobile plant for participation in the National exhibition «Belarus-2007» in .

According to the party information, a problem concerning the name of trucks is solved. Alongside with «MAZ» brand the Azerbaijan MAZ trucks will contain also the names. For example, the drop-side truck MAZ-631705 will be named as «Pehlevan» ("Bogatyr"), dump trucks MAZ-555102, MAZ-551605 will be named in honour of the city Gyandzha.

From the beginning of the assembly line opening in Gyandzha the automobile plant assembled 9 trucks.

If in 2006 63 units of motor-vehicles were delivered to , for the period of four months of the current year it was delivered more than 70 MAZ trucks.
