13.04.2007 THE FIRST LARGE LOT OF MAZ 203 BUSES
Minsk automobile plant is going to deliver 50 city low floor buses of second generation MAZ 203 to Kazan ( Republic of Tatarstan ). It is the first large order for the given model.
The plant has already shipped 10 buses, and in the beginning of April they went on a line. Buses are equipped by engines Mercedes of Euro-3 standard and ZF automatic gear box. Under the city municipality requirements the buses are painted in red color. The whole lot was to arrive to the customer in June, 2007.
Minsk automobile plant sent its technical specialists for rendering assistance to the consumers of new passenger vehicles for setting them into operation. Representatives of Kazan also have passed course of training of the work with MAZ vehicles free of charge at the enterprise.
Before «MAZ» brand buses for the first time appeared on city routes of Kazan, Minsk buses were presented at three exhibitions in this region. Firstly, a middle class bus MAZ 256 has been shown, then a presentation of passenger vehicles was held for the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiev , in which MAZ 203 received a high estimation, in February, 2007 the bus MAZ 206 was presented.

Minsk automobile plant has shown the bus MAZ 203 for the first time on the 9-th Moscow international auto show «Motor-Show-2005». According to the results of the exhibition a new city bus of second generation has received a special jury prize of the «Bus of the exhibition» competition.
MAZ 203 completely meets European requirements for passengers transportation (United Nations ЕEC Rules № 85, 107). From the city bus of previous generation MAZ-103 it is distinguished by a new design, a new technical and technological level. The bus is completely low floor. The height of the floor on the whole surface is 330 mm from the road bed. The portal bridge and front axle are applied in the bus design. It has an import engine corresponding Euro-3 standards and automatic gear box. The power scheme of the skeleton, based on the frame principle, provides maximum strength and passive safety of the bus. Glasses are pasted in the framework, there are no cross-sections of linings on junctures. A windshield is of panoramic type.
The workplace of the driver is as well updated. Entrance through the front door became more convenient for passengers. Now it is so wide, as all the others. Near the middle door in the interior there is a spacious platform. The interior of passenger compartment is updated. Hand-rails became more complex and consequently of more convenient form. The air conditioner can be installed in the compartment.
