A government delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by Dvornik V.A., the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, co-chairman of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Tashkent on February 24-27, 2020.
The delegation included the heads of the Ministries of Industry, agriculture and food, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, concern ''Belgospischeprom'', ''Belcoopsoyuz'', regional executive committees.
The business part of the delegation included about 150 representatives of enterprises-exporters of agricultural and food products, scientific and educational institutions of the agro-industrial complex of Belarus.
On February 25-26, 2020 the delegation took part in the work of the First Belarusian-Uzbek Agrarian Forum. The total number of participants in the event was more than 700 people. The Uzbek side was represented by delegations from all regions of the country, as well as relevant agencies and organizations of the agricultural system.
The partners of the forum were the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus.
Innovations of Belarusian and Uzbek enterprises in the field of agricultural engineering, cattle breeding, dairy farms design and construction, vegetable storage facilities and processing industries were presented at the Forum. Special attention was paid to an energy efficiency and resource saving in the production of meat and dairy products.
Welcome speech at the opening of the Belarusian-Uzbek Agrarian Forum were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Dvornik V.A. and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.A. Abdukhakimov.
As part of a visit program, on February 25, 2020 the Belarusian delegation met with the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.J. Ramatov, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.U. Umurzakov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan J.A. Hodjaev, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Uzagrotekhsanoatholding" N.S. Otazhonov.
Members of the Belarusian delegation held talks in ministries and departments of Uzbekistan on February 26, 2020. The Forum venue hosted thematic sections and presentations, meetings of representatives of the regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus and JV Uzbek Leasing International A.O. signed an Agreement on provision of services under contracts of financial leasing of goods produced in the Republic of Belarus to Uzbekistan residents. The agreement provides more acceptable interest rates on leasing for leaseholders. Thus, the leasing of MAZ, MTZ, Amkodor, Belaz, etc. products will be available according to special financing conditions. At the end of the forum, Belarusian exporting enterprises signed more than 30 agreements and contracts with Uzbek partners.
Uzbekistan is a promising trade and economic partner of Belarus in the Central Asian region. Following the results of 2019 the volume of bilateral trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan exceeded 239 million dollars (growth of more than 1,5 times). This is the highest indicator for the two countries in the history of economic relations.
One of the most important positions in mutual trade is agricultural products and food products. In 2019, $35 million worth of agricultural products and their processing products was supplied from Belarus to Uzbekistan. The volume of Uzbek agricultural products supplied to Belarus in 2019 exceeded $15 million.
Minsk Automobile Plant presented MAZ trucks at the forum. Among them were already well-proven in the Uzbek market dump trucks MAZ-551605, MAZ-650108 and MAZ-651608, designed for transportation of various bulk goods. The undoubted fact is that the agrarian forum can't ignore the grain-harvesting equipment, so Minsk Automobile Plant presented a video presentation of a grain truck MAZ-650108-8230-238 with a trailer designed for transportation of agricultural products. These grain trucks have been successfully working in Uzbekistan for a long period. It is also worth noting the interest of the Uzbek side in MAZ buses. The presentation of new MAZ 271 airport buses and MAZ 203965 city gas buses was held for the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan. The operation of these buses has already gained a lot of positive feedbacks from passengers as well as transport companies.
In general, the contracts on MAZ vehicles supply worth 1.5 million dollars were concluded within the framework of the forum.
