Minsk Automobile Plant became the winner of the annual contest "The Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year in Russia". In the nomination "Perspective of the Year" there was no equal vehicles to the new MAZ-5440M9 Euro-6 fifth-wheel truck .
The truck MAZ-5440M9 stands out with a new exterior and powerful engine Mercedes-Benz OM471 for 475 "horse powers". With its own 8,250 kg, it can carry a road train weighing 44 tons. Among the advantages there are high performance and low fuel consumption. In addition, the truck meets the latest requirements for electronic systems of passive safety. The tractor has turned out strong, hardy and unpretentious to severe climatic conditions. It can be operated at temperatures from minus 45 to plus 45 degrees.
Euro-6 trucks were developed for the EU market, but with a focus on Russian carriers that make transfers to European countries. In Russia, the requirements for Euro-6 trucks have not yet been defined, and Minsk Automobile Plant is preparing for serial production. Truck-tractors of Euro-6 class undergo long-term tests. To check many components, significant runs are required - from 25 to 200 thousand km. Engineers continue to test the reliability of systems - from engine operation to traffic control on the strip. In the coming months, the tests will be completed, after which it will be possible to expand the production of European trucks.
"New MAZ trucks, I hope, will be appreciated by Russian customers and drivers," the representative of JSC "MAZ" Evgeny Kizevich said at the awards ceremony.
Minsk Automobile Plant participates in the exhibition Comtrans-2017, which takes place in Moscow from 4 to 9 September. It presents more than 200 companies from 18 countries. Minsk Automobile Plant plans not only to show new products, but also to conclude business contracts. Belarusian vehicles are popular in Russia, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries.
Competition "The best commercial vehicle of the year in Russia" is held since 2001. The world's leading manufacturers of trucks, buses and vans claim to prizes. The jury consists of journalists from specialized media that are not affiliated with truck manufacturers, distributors and dealers.
Minsk Automobile Plant also received such a reward in 2010. Then fifth-wheel truck MAZ-5440A9 became the winner of the competition in the nomination "Truck of the Year".
