According to the tender for the purchase of 100 buses for Kiev (Ukraine) that was won in 2017, Minsk Automobile Plant shipped the first batch of 20 pcs of MAZ 203069. This is the largest bus tender among those that have been conducted in Ukraine in recent years.
In total, Kiev will receive another 50 city low-floor buses MAZ 203069 and 30 city buses of increased capacity MAZ 215069.
Buses are equipped with Mercedes-Benz engines of ecological standard Euro-5 and automatic transmission ZF. Both models are adapted to serve the low-mobility population groups. The suspension system integrates a system for raising the level of the body when moving on crossings through rail and tram tracks. In the driver's cabs climatic units are installed, the salons are equipped with air-conditioning. In addition, the buses are equipped with sound and light signals for doors opening and closing, external speakers, as well as video surveillance systems (there is a rear-view camera, and there is also a camera in the cabin of the bus).
At the beginning of this year, MAZ has already delivered to "Kyivpastrans" 48 pcs of 48-meter MAZ 203069 buses and two articulated 18-meter bus MAZ 215069.
The Ukrainian market is one of the key ones for Minsk Automobile Plant. Since 2003, more than 1,200 units have been sold to Ukraine. More than 180 units were delivered only in 2016-2017
On November 8, 2017 Mayor of Kiev Vitaly Klichko personally tested one of the MAZ buses. After a small test drive, Klitschko noted that in operating MAZ buses are convenient and comfortable for passengers.
Currently, the next batch of buses for delivery is being prepared in Minsk.
